I understand your concern about accessing existing PST files and configuring new ones in the new Outlook. Unfortunately, the New Outlook for Windows does not currently support PST files.According to official information, this feature is on thecoming soonlist.
Cannot open .pst file AFTER Outlook is crashed, and recreating email accounts So I have been using Outlook 365 Home Premium on my Windows 8.1 laptop for three months. I was initially able to import ALL my old files from my old computer from Outlook 2007.
My old computer crashed but we were able to save the hard drive. I have the old pst file from Outlook 2007 and need to import it into the new download of Outlook 2007 on the new computer. How can I get my old pst file into my new version of Outlook 2007?

I am sorry this feature is not provided in New Outlook, and only available in Classic Outlook. New Outlook is not an updated version of Outlook. It's a free email software developed by Microsoft for unsubscribed Microsoft 365 users.
The reason for that is if Outlook can't find/open this .ost file, it would automatically create a new one, sync the email folders with the server but the "This Computer Only" folders (contact/calendar) would be empty (ergo - the data would be lost).

If so, are you sure you have opened the right PST file in Outlook 2010? You may search for *.pst files in computer and open each one in Outlook and check whether you can find the appropriate data file.
Does your old PC use PST to store mailbox data? If that's correct, do NOT use export. Just copy the PST file from the old PC. Paste it to the new PC and open it with Outlook 2019.
Outlook 2010 window cannot open or recognise *.pst file after Windows 10 Pro update I run Windows Pro (now, after upgrading 1 December) on my MacBookPro using updated Parallels 10.
