More than 200 million people across the United States are bracing for the arrival of a major winter storm that is set to take hold over the weekend.

A winter storm warning has been issued ahead of a weekend storm which brings the threat of up to a foot of snow and ice in parts of Greater Cincinnati and Ohio.

The storm has already prompted some organizers of events scheduled for the weekend to alter plans.
