Apple is pushing widgets hard on all of its operating systems. Widgets are like mini-apps or shortcuts that you can add to your iPhone’s home screen to get quick information without opening an app.

Google has updated its Calendar app on the iPhone and iPad with a trio of convenient lockscreen widgets. “What’s Next” to “View your upcoming events and tasks” is available in three configurations.
